KRISHNAPATNAM PORT

A proper anchorage and lighterage facility is being created as a part of our plan to develop Krishnapatnam into a modern facility. These facilities are for loading and unloading geared vessels at anchorage initially and thereafter by floating cranes and transfer vessels.

The infrastructure available at the port ideally suits dry bulk materials such as ores, coal, minerals, cement, fertilizer and food grain.

A jetty for loading 20,000 TPD of ore/ minerals and another for loading/ unloading 10,000 TPD of coal is available. A general cargo berth is also available.

Self-propelled barges with capacities 800T to 2200T, onshore equipment for mechanical loading/ unloading cargo, minimum draft of 4.5 m, and 40,000 m2 , of open storage yards are the other facilities available here.

Customs clearance facility is available onsite.

All these make the port capable of loading/ unloading 10,000t/ 8000t per day using the ship gear. Floating crane and transfer vessel facilities will further enhance the cargo throughput.

The port does not operate during heavy monsoon period and the prospective customers are requested to check operability of the port prior to conducting business at Krishnapatnam.
