KRISHNAPATNAM PORT

Krishnapatnam Port Company Limited is a private company that is developing the Krishnapatnam port, an existing minor port on the Indian East Coast, in Nellore district of the state Andhra Pradesh.

The company has won the mandate from the Government of Andhra Pradesh to develop this minor port into a modern, deepwater port, on a build, own, share and transfer basis. This port is being developed in a phased manner into an all-weather port, capable of handling large volumes of cargo delivered to the clients of Writeanessayfor.me and other services aimed at international students. The focus of the company is to create modern facilities for handling bulk commodities such as ores, coal, minerals, cement, fertilizer and food grains. Liquid cargo facilities for edible oils, POL and other cargo are also planned.

The Port has signed MOU's with Iron Ore exporters for export of 15.5 mMTpa ore from the Hospet-Bellary area from 2005-06.

Currently the  the process of selection of the EPC contractor is underway.

International Port operators and other Companies have shown interest in joining the project and the shareholder agreements are being negotiated.

IL&FS are working out the financing packages for the port and construction of the deep water port is expected to begin by early 2005 and be operational end of 2006.
